Darren Schmidt, Associate


Darren maintains a broad practice in family law including divorce, common law separation, division of assets, parenting, custody, mobility/relocation, and child and spousal support. Darren previously practiced law in Alberta in the area of family and divorce.  He also acted as counsel on various litigation matters including employment and organized labour disputes, contested estate litigation, criminal defence, and civil litigation matters.  His diverse litigation background serves him well when acting for clients in more complex family law disputes. Darren always strives to provide tailored, down-to-earth advice for his clients.

Darren works with his clients to find efficient and cost effective solutions to their family law matters.  This includes trying to find a negotiated resolution.  However, if a settlement is not possible, Darren is able to help his clients navigate the court system and works diligently to achieve the best possible outcome at court and during the litigation process.
