Practice Emphasis
Hilary obtained her law degree at the University of British Columbia. She obtained a degree in environmental geosciences and worked in public policy for the federal government prior to law school. Drawing from her background in science, she spent two years of law school employed in the legal department of an international engineering consulting firm.
Hilary has a broad interest in solicitor work and prioritized taking corporate and commercial, real estate, and industry specific (including mining and construction) law courses during her studies. She participated in multiple negotiation competitions and was selected to represent her law school at the Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot in Toronto, where she placed among respondent teams along with her mooting partner. Hilary was also a tax policy research assistant to a law professor.
Hilary enjoys being involved in the community, holding multiple executive roles in student organizations while attending law school. You can find Hilary skiing and rock climbing around the North Okanagan in her spare time.
Hilary will clerk as a bilingual (English/French) Law Clerk at the Tax Court of Canada from August 2026 to August 2027.
