Agricultural Land Commission Appeal Decision, 2018 August 27

Chris Hart acted as lead counsel for the Appellants, William Robert Clendenning, Richard Dave Clendenning, and Debra Ann Honcoop, who contested an Order from the CEO of the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC), Kim Grout. The Order required the removal of unauthorized fill from their property and the remediation of the land to its agricultural capability prior to the importation of fill. The ALC Appeal Panel agreed with the Appellants arguments and reversed the Order.)

A Calgary man in his late 40’s was rear ended on the Island Highway on Vancouver Island. His minivan had what appeared to be minor damage, but removing the bumper showed more damage than expected. Complex Claim in Multi Vehicle Collision, Resolves for over $1.5 million

Michael Yawney QC, was asked to represent a female passenger of a vehicle that was hit at high speed on Hwy 97A north of Vernon, BC.  Multiple vehicles were involved in the collision, including a transport truck.  
The woman suffered multiple injuries that required surgeries and a long and extensive rehab program. The client, who owned a working farm with her husband, and who also trained and sold high end show horses, was not able to go back to work or continue most of the usual activities she enjoyed prior to the collision.
